Referees gather in Bulgaria

Five pairs of referees have come to the city of Gabrovo to attend the 18th EHF Referee Candidates Course from 19 to 23 November.

The five-day seminar sees the referees attending theoretical courses as well as doing practical on-court refereeing as they are appointed to officiate games at the Bulgarian trophy tournament for men's and women's under-17 national teams.

The presenters include former top referees Peter Olsson and Dragan Nachevski, the latter being also the chairman of the EHF's Technical Refereeing Committee, Alexandru Acsinte, a professor of health, sports and human movement from the Univeristy of Bacau, as well as Vladimir Rancik, also a former top referee, from the EHF Office.

The referee pairs are Valery and Yury Butskevich from Belarus, Svetoslav and Zvezdelim Jovchec from Bulgaria, Hanspeter Brodbeck and Simon Reich from Germany, Besfort Jahja and Sherif Xhema from Kosovo as well as Andrej Budzak and Michal Zahradnik from Slovakia.
