REVIEW: Round 2 of the European qualification to the Men's World Championship 2017 came to a close with four matches on Sunday
Victories for Romania, Greece, Latvia in World Championship Qualification
Latvia is one step closer to the Men's World Championship Play-offs in June 2016 after the Baltic nation recorded the second victory in its qualification campaign, beating Ukraine away 23:18.
In the second Group 3 match on Sunday Greece beat Cyprus 31:27, which sees Latvia with four points ahead of Ukraine and Greece with two points each as well as Cyprus (zero points) in the group table.
In Group 1 one the match between Lithuania and Bosnia-Herzegovina ended in a 27:27 draw. Both teams now have three points from two matches on their account.
Romania recorded their first victory when they beat Italy 35:22 in Group 2.
On Saturday Portugal became the first team to qualify for the play-offs as Group 4 was played in a tournament format and not with home and away matches.
The Qualification Europe will continue at the beginning of January with Rounds 3 and 4.
