Join the EHF's Mobile Journalism Team at the EHF EURO 2016

The EHF’s Mobile Journalism Programme enters 2016 with a bang, as the EHF is seeking aspiring media professionals to join its media team at Europe's biggest handball event, the Men's EHF EURO 2016 from 15 to 31 January in Poland.

Mobile journalism, in particular the coverage of events with and on your smartphone, has already been the focus of the Young Reporters Programme at the Women’s EHF EURO 2014, and the EHF intends to further increase its activities in this field.

And the next chance to gain first-hand experience is now coming up at the Men's EHF EURO 2016 in Poland.

The programme's main facts:

  • The EHF Mobile Journalism Team will consist eight media professionals at the Men's EHF EURO 2016
  • Travel to the event and accommodation will be paid for by the EHF
  • A workshop focusing on mobile journalism with all selected candidates will be held from 4 to 6 December in either Warsaw or Vienna. Participation at the workshop is mandatory. Travel and accommodation costs for selected candidates will be borne by the EHF.
  • The reporters will work alongside the EHF Media Team at the event. They will interview players, cover press conferences and have the opportunity to research and come up with their own stories.
  • A large focus will be on mobile journalism. Applicants who have proven experience in these fields will be given preference.

  • The working and writing language will be English. Candidates are hence required to have at least a proficient level of written as well as spoken English. The ability to speak one or more of the participating teams’ languages will be considered an asset.
  • Candidates will be between 20 and 35 and will already have experience working in the media. Each candidate must submit a CV and a short motivational essay in English (approx. 500 words). Strong supporting references and evidence of published work will be an advantage.
  • The deadline for application is 30 October 2015.
  • CV and motivational letter shall be sent to media@eurohandball.com

Applications have to be submitted by email to the EHF Media and Communications Department which is responsible for choosing the candidates.

The EHF will provide the selected candidates with transport, accommodation and media accreditation for the duration of their work. They will receive meals while working and will be supplied with event clothing. No further expenses can be covered by the EHF.
