Guinness World Record attempt for handball

On Sunday 11 October at 16:00, on more than 150 courts in Poland, an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest amount of simultaneous handball training sessions will take place.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the event which will be carried out as part of "Our road to Euro 2016".

“At January's Men’s EHF EURO 2016 all the matches will be held in 4 cities: Krakow, Katowice, Gdansk and Wroclaw, but it is our desire to make the event a celebration for all Poles, as we would like everyone to feel the excitement of the tournament.

That is why I am delighted that so many small towns will take part in breaking this Guinness World Record. This demonstrates the popularity of handball in our country,” commented the Vice President of Polish Handball Federation, Marcin Herra.

So that the record will be recognised by the Guinness World Record committee, several conditions must be fulfilled: All training sessions have to start and finish at the same time.

Each session has to follow on the same schedule. Additionally, at least two witnesses have to observe the attempt on each court and the whole event must be filmed and photographed.

The attempt will take place on Sunday, October 11 at 16:00. The organisers are Polish Handball Federation and the Foundation for the Development of Physical Culture.

The complete list addresses and court names are listed here. Find out whether your local hall or court will take part in the action!
