Laszlo Nagy is to miss a minimum of four VELUX EHF Champions League games after fracturing his knuckle
Veszprem skipper sidelined for four to six weeks
Laszlo Nagy played a vital part in Veszprém’s victory over Flensburg (scoring four on the night), but the skipper had to leave the court shortly after the break with a hand injury.
Tests showed that Veszprém’s right back fractured a bone in his hand, and the Hungarian had his hand operated on shortly afterwards.
Doctors declared the operation a success, however, Nagy will be out of action for four to six weeks.
This means the Hungarian outfit will have to do without him in such decisive games as against THW Kiel at home and Paris Saint-Germain Handball away in both Round 5 and 6.
Nagy left the court of the sold-out Veszprém Arena with Flensburg mounting a comeback, however, Momir Ilic & Co. gathered momentum for the last 10 minutes and managed to fend off the German side’s late rally.
