Young handballers to boost ticket sales

With tickets for the Women’s EHF EURO 2016 in Sweden set to hit the market in November 2015, the Swedish organisers of the event taking place from 4-18 December 2016 have launched a unique initiative to promote ticket sales.

Youth teams around the host country are to get the chance to be the first to sell tickets, with five euros from each ticket sold going straight back to the players’ team.

The project will start in September and run through to Christmas Eve.

Sannadals SK from the capital Stockholm is one of the clubs that has signed up for the project.

”It’s a win-win situation,” said Sannadals' vice chair, Anna Fröjd. ”We’re ambassadors for the EHF EURO and at the same time our teams can earn money.”

Former left winger with the Swedish national team, Matilda Boson, is the EHF EURO 2016 marketing manager and has travelled across the country to inform clubs about the ticket project.

”Together with the youth players we want to create an amazing atmosphere in Sweden in December next year,” she said.

”Our championships slogan is ’Pure heart. All hands’ and this project is one of several campaigns we will do in the spririt of our motto.”

She continued: ”We want everybody to feel that this is their championship and become ambassadors for it, said Boson, who won a silver medal at the EHF EURO 2010.
