Following a week of competition, Europe’s top men's and women's university teams play for the medals in Braga, Portugal
 

European Universities Championship reaches finals day

Six men’s teams and nine women’s teams from across Europe have been competing in the European Universities Championship in Braga, Portugal since Friday, 3 August 2015.

The group phases are complete and on Sunday, 9 August the men's and women's teams from France, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Turkey play for the medals.

The competition has been staged at the University of Minho.

Hosts in men's final

In the men’s competition, the final will be contested between the home side, Minho University, and Cordoba University, Spain (18:00 hrs local time - GMT +1).

Germany and France will play in the bronze medal match as HfPV Wiesbaden play Strasbourg University at 14:00 hrs.

The German side is also represented in the final of the women’s competition, where they meet Vincent University from Poland at 16:00 hrs.

The battle for bronze will be between Konstanz University (GER) and Malaga University (ESP) at 12:00 hrs.

EHF support

The event is supported by the EHF as part of a cooperation agreement with the European Universities Sports Association (EUSA). Parallel to the competition the EHF has been organising a clinic for its young referees programme.
