Gold for France at Junior World Championship

A second win for France against Denmark at the 2015 IHF Men’s Junior World Championship played in Brazil brought the first title win in this competition for the Les Bleus.

France defeated Egypt in the semi-finals 32:30 (15:12) and, with a six-goal win against the Danes in the Group Phase, went into the final as favourites.

The French took control of the game from the start, and were up by three at half time, maintaining their lead through most of the second half.

By the 22nd minute, Denmark were back in the game and just one goal behind (21:20), but France managed to hold them off, finishing the match 26:24 (14:11).

Top three goes to Europe

All top three finishing positions at the Junior World Championships were taken by European teams.

Germany took the bronze medal by defeating Egypt after double extra-time 35:34 (12:13).
