NEWS REPORT: The MVP of the last VELUX EHF FINAL4 will reunite with his brother Luka and former coach Serdarusic in the squad of the French champions.
Nikola Karabatic joins PSG Handball
After months of whispers and rumours, Paris Saint Germain Handball has now made official that Nikola Karabatic will join the club for the four next seasons.
The French international, who was awarded the MVP at the last VELUX EHF FINAL4, signed a deal running until June 2019 just one day after FC Barcelona announced a mutual termination of contract with him.
After playing in Montpellier, Kiel, Montpellier again, Aix and for the last two seasons, FC Barcelona, PSG will be the fifth club to welcome one of the biggest stars of handball courts in its squad.
At 31, he will meet again in Paris with Noka Serdarusic, his former coach, with whom he met at THW Kiel and who has maintened a close relationship with him afterwards.
The inspiring centre back won the third VELUX EHF Champions League title of his career with FC Barcelona last May after winning the 2003 edition with Montpellier and the 2007 one with THW Kiel.
His goal, of course, will be to help PSG win the first European title of its history in the next few seasons.
Nikola Karabatic is the fifth and probably last signing for PSG this summer, after Danish left back Henrik Mollgaard, Ukrainian right back Sergy Onufryienko, coach Noka Serdarusic and Nikola's brother Luka, who plays on the line player position.
Both brothers will reunite again after they played together in Aix under Serdarusic in the 2012/13 season.
The star-studded team of PSG now counts four former IHF Players of the Year within its ranks. Nikola Karabatic is the reigning holder winning the title for the second time time after the 2007 award, while Daniel Narcisse was crowned in 2012, Mikkel Hansen in 2011 and Thierry Omeyer in 2008.
