All-stars named at Junior European Championships

With the conclusion of the Men's and Women's 19 European Championships on Sunday, the European Handball Federation also named the tournament's all stars.

In the men's event the award for the Most Valuable Player went to bronze medallists Spain's Marti Gascon Comas (pictured below).

Best goalkeeper was silver medallists Croatia's Mislav Smolkovic - his team also won the fair play award.

The top scorer was part of a team that did not medal - but nevertheless Switzerland's Mirko Hess accumulated an impressive 89 points.

In the women's event silver medallists Spain can pride themselves not only of the second place but also of Lara Lozano Macias who became the tournament's MVP.

Gold medallists Hungary had the top scorer in Victoria Vigh with 93 points, while Germany's Magdalena Frey became the best goalkeeper.

Switzerland way awarded the fair play prize in the women's competition.
