Hungary storm towards World Championship with 41:24 win against Austria

Hungary have become the first team on Saturday to qualify for the Women's World Championship 2015 in Denmark this December.

Following their 33:20 play-off away win last week, Saturday afternoon's match was an even more one-sided affair, with Hungary recording a 41:24 win at home in Györ.

Once again, the Hungarians left no doubt about their superiority, and it did not take them long to get ahead by nine goals already in the first half.

However, after a Hungarian seven-goal lead at half-time (17:10), there was not much that indicated another big win at the beginning of the second half.

Austria actually reduced the Hungarian lead to five goals a few times, but with 20 minutes remaining the Hungarians forged ahead again and eventually won by no less than 17 goals.

Austria's Katrin Engel was the game's top scorer with eight goals, while Gabriella Toth, Dora Hornyak and Anita Bulath all scored five each for Hungary, while another ten players also hit the back of the net for the winners.
