Four teams to become two

Greece will host Belgium in the EHF EURO 2018 Group A match that will determine which side goes through to the next round on Sunday.

In Group C, Italy travel to Romania with the same high-stakes game ahead.

Group A: Greece vs Belgium / Sunday, 19:30 hrs in Thessaloniki

Belgium came out on top in the first-leg meeting between the two sides on Wednesday.

After trailing by one at half-time, Belgium played a brilliant second half with outstanding defence that saw the hosts finish the match five goals ahead (30:25).

Greece were arguably the favourites ahead of Wednesday’s match, and will therefore be looking for retribution when they welcome Belgium on Sunday – but in order to to advance they will need to win by at least six goals.

The team that eventually tops the group, qualifies for the play-offs, where it will face one of the three lowest-ranked teams of the current EHF EURO 2016 Qualification Phase.

Group C: Romania vs Italy / Sunday, 17:00 hrs in Resita

The situation in Group C is exactly the same: Romania are currently on six points while Italy are on four, which means either team could top the group and proceed to the next phase.

But following Wednesday's result, Italy will need a small handball miracle, in this case an away win with at least seven goals difference.

Romania won the first-leg game by six (22:28), and as hosts are favourites to record another victory on Sunday.

Romania led Wednesday’s match throughout the entire 60 minutes, which is a bad sign for Italy, who will not have the crowd on their side on Sunday.
