Excitement builds up as teams arrive in Budapest

Teams have begun to arrive at the Aquincum hotel in Budapest, as the excitement builds up with less than two days to go until the first whistle of this year’s MVM EHF FINAL4.

The debutants Larvik, were the first in town, such is their eagerness and desire to make an instant impact on their premiere in Budapest.

Among the first to exit the bus was Nora Mork, the best scorer of the Norwegian team, and a Women’s EHF Champions League winner from 2011. Upon departing the bus, an eager EHF mobile reporting crew welcomed the Scandinavian team, ready to record every moment of their historic first outing.

The players greeted a small group of people in front of the hotel, before entering the Aquincum hotel one by one, gracefully and together. It was Gro Hammerseng-Edin who stopped for a while to give statements and invite the fans to come to the MVM EHF FINAL4 in behalf of her team.

Enjoying the sunny day away from the public eye in Hungarian capital were Jovanka Radicevic and Julija Nikolic. The two Vardar players arrived a short while ahead of the rest of their team, avoiding the airplane at all costs.

“We took a car, as we avoid traveling by plane whenever we can, since our recent trip to Krim was very unpleasant with a lot of turbulence and everything,” said Jovanka Radicevic who didn’t mind taking a considerably longer, nine-hour trip from Skopje.

The rest of the team soon joined the two early birds, arriving from the Liszt Ferenc airport.  Lead by the charismatic playmaker Andrea Lekic, Vardar teamed up at the lobby in visibly good spirits, awaiting their evening training session.

“We are just going to give players a brief run out this evening, and a chance to stretch after the journey. The real training begins tomorrow,” said Jan Pylick Vardar assistant coach.
