Every team wins with the MVM EHF FINAL4 charity programme

The ‘fifth team’ at the MVM EHF FINAL4 in Budapest has been selected as part of a charity programme organised by title sponsor, MVM Hungarian Electricity Ltd.

The jury, comprising Anita Görbicz, Katalin Pálinger and representatives of MVM and the Hungarian Handball Federation selected Nádudvar DSE. They win a trip to the MVM EHF FINAL4, a full set of adidas sportswear and subscription to Képes Sport.

Launched on 2 April 2015, the ‘Be the fifth team at the MVM EHF FINAL4’ initiative will provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience to an U13 girls handball team by enabling its players to take part in the event, thereby increasing the children’s love for the sport.

A total of 20  youth  women’s teams from Hungary (Balmazújváros, Doboz, Dorog, Gödöllő, Gyöngyös, Hajós, Hatvan, Heves, Hort, Kecskemét, Kisvárda, KSI, Mohács, Mosonszolnok, MVSC, Nádudvar, Nagyatád, Postás, Salgótarján and Tompa) submitted their entries, including videos, photos and handicrafts.

So successful was the initiative, that title sponsor MVM has extended a welcome to the MVM EHF FINAL4 on 9/10 May 2015 to all of the teams that took part.

Csilla Nagy, Acting Director of Communications for MVM, said: “We received so many interesting and valuable entries that we decided to provide an opportunity for all team members participating in the programme to see the best players play live at the top event of women’s handball this year.”

At the prize giving ceremony held at the home of Nádudvar DSE, Katalin Pálinger, Vice President of the Hungarian Handball Federation, herself a European champion and world and Olympic silver medallist handed over the gifts.

“Although the final decision wasn’t easy, the enthusiasm and work of the Nádudvar girls stood out amongst the entries. The first prize went to the right place, they are a small, close-knit team, which lives and dies for handball – and, we hope, with even greater enthusiasm and perseverance from now on,” she said.

Fans visiting the MVM EHF FINAL4 in Budapest will get to see for themselves all the videos, photos and presentations from the participating teams, which will be shown in an exhibition at the event.

The coach of Nádudvar DSE, Dóra Kiss, said: “This prize means a lot to us, on the one hand, because the girls will get a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and on the other hand, because we worked together on something, which brought success to us. This is also the way team sport works.”
