29 teams embark on road to Women's 19 EHF EURO 2015

Three playing days separate 13 teams from the Women's 19 EHF EURO 2015 as the qualification tournaments for the final tournament in Spain are being played across Europe from 17 to 19 April.

A live ticker for all matches is available.

Organisers Spain as well Sweden and Russia, the gold and silver medallists at the Women's 17 EHF EURO 2013, are already qualified which leaves 13 spots open for the 29 teams that enter the qualification.

The first two teams from each group with four nations (Groups 1 - 5) qualify, while only the top-ranked team from the three groups with three nations each (Groups 6 - 8) qualifies.

In Group 1 Montenegro, who ranked fifth at the Women's 17 EHF EURO 2013, have only a short trip to Skopje where they will meet Netherlands, Iceland and FYR Macedonia.

Norway are the favourites in Group 2. They meet Czech Republic, tournament hosts Lithuania and Faroe Islands. Romania have the home advantage in Group 3 in which they face Slovakia, Serbia and Kosovo.

Denmark, bronze medallists from the Women's 17 EHF EURO 2013, should have no problem qualifying in Group 4. Their opponents are Poland, Belarus and Ukraine.

Portugal also seem to have a strong generation of young players as the team placed fourth two years ago at the Women's 17 EHF EURO. France, Greece and Israel are the teams they need to overcome in Group 5 in order qualify for the Women's 19 EHF EURO.

Bulgaria hosts Group 6 with Croatia and Slovenia being the opponents, Germany play on home court in Regensburg against neighbours Austria and Switzerland, while Finland welcome Hungary and Turkey for the qualification tournament in Group 8.

The Women's 19 EHF EURO 2015 is played in Valencia, Spain from 23 July to 2 August.
