Two years for Gnabouyou in Viborg

Danish champions Viborg HK have started forming their team for next season.

Recently Viborg, who are currently in the quarter-finals of the Women’s EHF Champions League, announced Denmark international, left wing Ann Grete Norgaard, would join the club and on Sunday the club also announced the signing of French international Marie-Paule Gnabouyou.

The 27-year-old right back is joining the Danish club from French league club Toulon Handball on a two-year contract this summer.

“In Gnabouyou, we are getting a player who first perfectly into our future set-up,” Viborg director Henrik Dahl said.

“She has the experience from 75 internationals for France and she also has a French championship and two French cup titles on her CV. Still, she is so young that it is still possible to build further layers onto her play.

“With her 178 cm, we also get a strong shooter on the right back position, from where she has scored 78 goals in 16 matches for Toulon, so it will be really interesting to follow her in the Danish league,” Dahl added.

In Viborg, Marie-Paule Gnabouyou is seen as the successor to Danish international Louise Burgaard who will join league rivals FC Midtjylland at the end of the season.
