Le Havre dominate all-French tie

HAC Handball from Le Havre have a strong upper hand in the entirely French tie of the Women’s Challenge Cup Semi-finals.

HAC won the first leg away against Union Mios Biganos-Begles as clearly as 28:21 and are obviously in a great position ahead of the second match at home on Friday.

Already at half-time, HAC were leading by seven goals, 15:8, and the home team did not manage to reduce that gap by the final buzzer.

With 11 goals, right wing Marine Deslogard made her considerable contribution to her team’s substantial win.

The other semi-final tie is more open, but still with good chances for Galytchanka who only lost by one goal away to Pogon Baltica Szczecin.

29:28 for the Polish hosts was the score after 60 minutes in the Hala Meijska in Szczecin, where 500 spectators saw an equal match, with the score at 13:13 at half-time.

Only one goal down after the first leg, Galytchanka can look ahead at the return match in Ukraine with certain optimism.
