EHF FINAL4 title sponsor MVM launches CSR campaign

Hungary energy giant MVM, the title sponsor of the final weekend of the Women’s EHF Champions League, the MVM EHF FINAL4, has launched a Corporate Social Responsibility campaign on Thursday together with two-time EHF Champions League winner Anita Görbicz.

The programme is aimed at Hungarian under-13 girls’ handball teams with one of them being given the opportunity to experience the MVM EHF FINAL4 at the Papp Lászlo Budapest Sportáréna on 9/10 May 2015.

Furthermore more adidas Hungary will sponsor a complete set of equipment and the MVM EHF FINAL4 media partner, Nemzeti Sport, adds a subscription to its Képes Sport magazine to the package.

"The aim of the programme is to provide a long-lasting experience to the winning handball team. I saw the children’s eyes when Anita (Görbicz) came and I was touched. I think it is a chance to give something special to the next generation," said Csilla Nagy, deputy communications director of MVM.

"These young handball players are crucial for the Hungarian Handball Federation simply because they represent our future.

"It is very important that they are given a chance to experience through this event in the Papp László Sportaréna, what it feels like to be a top handball player. We would like to award teams who find themselves in a difficult financial situation so that the support is a real help for them," said Gábor Mátrai from the Hungarian Handball Federation.

Dreams come true

The launch event on Thursday at the Angyalföldi Sportiskola in Budapest reached its peak when two-time EHF Champions League winner and Györi Audi ETO KC centre back Anita Görbicz entered the sports hall as a surprise guest.

The young players’ eyes were full of joy and they started giggling of excitement when they met the prolific player, who will miss the MVM EHF FINAL4 because of her pregnancy.

"My dream has come true today. I have never seen Anita in person before this training but only on TV and having the chance to actually talk to her, to my favourite player is beyond my imagination.

"I’m really happy and I will never forget this afternoon," said Lili Tóth.

"I think these children won’t be able to sleep at night. It is an amazing experience for them.

"They admire Anita Görbicz. They took a lot of energy out of this unforgettable event to go on with their everyday trainings. We are very grateful," said Zsolt Géber the trainer of Angyalföldi Sportiskola.

"I wanted to help them but I couldn’t do it, not only because I’m expecting my son, but they were also very fast and skilful," said a smiling Görbicz.

"I always find it amazing meeting children. When they see me like an idol and I feel their happiness and look into their shiny eyes, I think it is a very special thing to be a handball player and it is worth working hard in every practise day after day."

The application to the CSR programme is now open to all Hungarian youth clubs with under-13 girls’ teams. Application is possible via the Hungarian federation’s website with participating having to explain why it is them in particular that deserve a trip to the MVM EHF FINAL4.
