NEWS REPORT: Seismic disturbance predicted by ehfTV commentator Tom O'Brannagain for the first quarter-final Match of the Week. All eyes will be on Paris on Sunday 12 April.
First quarter-final MOTW goes to Paris
Just two matches separate the eight remaining teams from the most important weekend in club handball: the VELUX EHF FINAL4. But only four teams will earn a ticket to Europe’s biggest handball event in Cologne.
On Sunday 12 April Paris will be under the spotlight as ehfTV commentator Tom O’Brannagain travels to the French capital to commentate the Match of the Week between Paris Saint-Germain Handball and MKB-MVM Veszprem.
The same rivals also met in last year's quarter-finals as Veszprem won both matches, but the ehfTV commentator hints that this time a surprise is possible at the expense of the Hungarian champions.
"It's a clash of tradition versus invention, of probability versus possibility. It has the potential for a shock, with the realisation that it would be tantamount to seismic disturbance in the world of handball," says Tom O’Brannagain.
Both teams won both matches against their opponents in the Last 16. While Veszprem beat Naturhouse La Rioja clearly, the team from Paris made their way to the quarter-finals with two narrow victories in the all-French clash against Dunkerque HB Grand Littoral.
Find out which team will make the first step to the semi-finals live on ehfTV on Sunday 12 April at 17:30 hrs local time.
