700 name suggestions for EHF EURO 2016 mascot
The first stage of the naming competition for the Men’s EHF EURO 2016 mascot has come to an end, and 700 suggestions to name the ‘golden hand’ have been received by the Polish tournament organisers.
Out of these 700 suggestions, which have been sent from all over Europe, five names will be selected and presented to the public on 21 March, as this day marks 300 days to go until the final tournament throws off.
On the same day a Facebook poll on the official EHF EURO page will go online, allowing fans to have the final say for the mascot’s name.
The voting will last until 26 April when the mascot name will be announced on the occasion of the Polish Cup Finals.
Two tickets for the opening day of the Men’s EHF EURO 2016 will be awarded to the person who came up with the winning name.
The Men’s EHF EURO 2016 takes place in Poland from 15 to 31 January 2016.
The next qualification rounds will be played at the end of April/beginning of May.
Qualification comes to an end in June, and the final tournament draw takes place on 19 June 2015 at the ICE Convention Centre in Krakow.
