Handball takes centre stage at European Youth Olympic Festival 2015

For some of the eight women's teams it is a chance to test their skills just a couple of weeks ahead of the Women's 17 EHF EURO in FYR Macedonia; for the men's teams it is a possibility to get their first taste of what it is like to play on international level.

When the European Youth Olympic Festival 2015 starts on Sunday, 26 July in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi, handball will once again be one of the nine sports featured at the event.

The teams will be comprised of players born in 1998 or younger. In the men's event Hungary, Denmark, Norway and Germany are seeded in Group A, while France, Switzerland, Slovenia and Georgia make up Group B.

In the women's event Denmark, Norway, Germany and Montenegro are in Group A; Group B is comprised of Russia, Czech Republic, Romania and Georgia.

For all matches the EHF offers a live ticker on http://ticker.ehf.eu.

Following the group matches, in the semi-finals of both competitions, the first ranked team of Group A will face the second ranked team of Group B and vice versa.

The semi-finals are played on 31 July, the finals take place on 1 August. For more information on the European Youth Olympic Festival visit the event's official website.
