Countdown clock revealed to mark ‘one year to go’ until the EHF EURO 2016

To mark the one-year-countdown to the Men’s EHF EURO 2016 in Poland (15 to 31 January) and celebrate the occasion, the Polish Handball Federation has revealed a countdown clock in Katowice, one of the tournament’s host cities.

Representatives of the Polish Handball Federation, the city council and numerous kids from Katowice's schools – alongside the many passers-by that stopped of interest – gathered in the city centre. And, of course, the tournament’s mascot, the golden hand, also made its appearance.

"We are very glad that Katowice is the one of four host cities during Men's EHF EURO 2016. I would like to congratulate the representatives of the city and the Spodek Hall (the venue for the EHF EURO 2016) great organisation of the Christmas Cup (a preparation tournament in December)," said Marcin Herra, the Polish federation’s vice president.

"It was wonderful, high-level event and we are very satisfied with the cooperation."

The clock is has been mounted on Katowice’s city hall for everyone to see and will for the next year be a reminder that the Europe’s biggest handball event throws off on 15 January 2016.
