Spain to host 2015 European Beach Handball Championships

The Spanish coastal town of Lloret de Mar is to play host to the 2015 editions of the Younger Age Category and senior European Beach Handball Championships following a decision by the EHF Executive Committee.

The organisational rights for the two events have been awarded to the Spanish Handball Federation, which plans to organise the 2015 YAC (MW19) from 10 to 12 July 2015 and the senior championships from 14 to 19 July 2015.

Lloret de Mar is a popular tourist resort in the Catalonia region on the Costa Brava, located 75 kilometres from Barcelona (map).

Spain has already hosted a major EHF beach handball event in 2014, having organised the Men's 18 and Women's 18 European Beach Handball Championships in Lorca from 11 to 13 July 2014.

The first workshop for the organisation of the seventh senior European Beach Handball Championships will take place in November 2014.

Previous senior European Beach Handball Championships have taken place in Croatia, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain and Turkey.

This will be the third edition of the YAC (MW19) event will previous championships having been previously hosted in Croatia and Denmark prior to the senior events.
