NEWS REPORT: The European Handball Federation's Technical Refereeing Committee has compiled more than 100 clips to facilitate the referee's decision making process
Referee guidelines for 2014/15 season released
The European Handball Federation's Technical Refereeing Committee (TRC) has compiled and released the teaching material for referees in the 2014/15 season.
The material is intended for all member federations' referee education and training and can be watched online via eurohandball.com.
The web tool which gives the complete overview and access to all clips has been produced by the University of Las Palmas in close cooperation with the EHF Competence Academy & Network (EHF CAN).
More than 100 clips from men's and women's handball covering topics such as 7 metre decision, 2 minute suspension, disqualification, wing play, pivot play and offensive foul have been collected to help referees in their decision making process.
The clips were taken from matches played at the Men's EHF EURO 2014 in Denmark and the Women's EHF EURO 2014 in Serbia.
Each clip shows a single punishable action in real time as well as in slow motion. While watching, it is possible to halt the clip by hitting 'space' and then to continue it frame by frame, using the arrow kews.
Another hit on 'space' continues the clip at normal speed.
A small book icon on the screen's right side gives for each scene a small explanation, advice for the referee how to react/what to call and reference to the rule(s) that is/are applied.
The TRC consists of six persons. Its chairman is Dragan Nachevski. Mona Förström, Henrik La Cour Laursen, Antonio Goulao, Helmut Wille and Viktor Poladenko are its five members.
