30 teams vie for eight places at Men's Junior World Championship 2015

The draw for the European qualification to the Men's Junior World Championship marked the last of overall three draws being conducted at the EHF Congress 2014 in Dublin.

Three European teams, Germany as the Men's 20 EHF EURO 2014 champions, Sweden as the silver medallists at the Men's 20 EHF EURO 2014 and current youth world champions Denmark, are already qualified.

This means that there are another eight spots up for grabs which will be decided among 30 teams that have entered the qualification.

They were drawn to six groups consisting of four teams each and two groups consisting of three teams each. No matter whether there are three or four teams in one group, only the first ranked team will go to Brazil.

The first right to organise the qualification tournaments was drawn to Turkey, Poland, Great Britain, Lithuania, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Group 7 tbd, Greece.

According to the decisions of the Court of Handball Netherlands, Portugal and Ukraine do not have the right to organise one of the qualification tournaments.

Furthermore the teams that were awarded the right to organise qualification tournaments for the Men's 20 EHF EURO 2014, Czech Republic, Spain, France, Israel, FYR Macedonia, Slovenia, Serbia and Switzerland, do not have the right to be an organiser again unless none of other teams in the respective group is willing to organise the tournament.

The participation of Kosovo is subject to the congress decision of granting full membership to the Handball Association of Kosovo.

The qualification tournaments are played from 9 to 11 January 2015. The Men's Junior World Championship next year takes place from 19 July to 2 August 2015.
