EHF Court of Arbitration confirms fine for Dutch Handball Federation

The EHF Court of Arbitration (ECA) has dealt with the case of the Netherlands Handball Federation concerning their withdrawal in June 2012 from the organisation of the Women's EHF EURO 2012 scheduled to take place in December 2012.

The parties had individually filed claims for recourse to the EHF Court of Arbitration following the decision of the EHF Court of Appeal at the end of March 2014.

The Court of Arbitration in its ruling confirmed the fine to be paid by the federation, i.e. 250,000 euro, based on article D.5 of the EHF List of Penalties.

The suspension from organising any EHF national team competitions until December 2016 has also been upheld.

The ECA, however, lowered the amount of additional costs and expenses to be reimbursed to 40,000 euro based on the documentation provided.
