No European Cup matches in Israel due to security concerns

The European Handball Federation was and still is continuously following the situation in Israel via the various media sources as well as via additionally available information. As a consequence of these information and paying tribute to the current situation in Israel the EHF ruled that for the time being the clubs from Israel do not have the right to carry out their home matches of the 2014/15 European Cup competitions within the territory of the Israel Handball Association.

This situation is valid until further notice and can only be revised by a new decision of the European Handball Federation.

The EHF carried out the first draw for the Men’s and Women’s European Cup 2014/15 last Tuesday in Vienna. The following teams from Israel were part of this draw in the respective competitions and round:
Men’s EHF-Cup Round 1 with matches in September: Maccabi CASTRO Tel Aviv and Maccabi Rishon Le Zion
Men’s Challenge Cup Round 3 with matches in November: HC Holon and Ramat Hashron HC
Women’ EHF Cup Round 2 with matches in October: Bnei Hertzelya
Women’s Challenge Cup Round 3 with matches in November: HC Holon

The two Men's EHF Cup clubs are requested to provide the EHF with a proposal of a venue for their home match which is situated outside of Israel but within a Member Federation of the EHF. The requested proposals for a venue of the home matches are to be sent to the EHF by 6 August 2014.

In a later priority the EHF will inform in the near future about the procedures regarding matches in Round 2 (October) and Round 3 (November).
