Pedersen departs Viborg for FC Midtjylland

28-year-old line player Sabine Pedersen is leaving this season’s Danish champions Viborg HK to join runners-up and MVM EHF FINAL4 participants FC Midtjylland.

“It has been a long process, and I thought a lot about going abroad, but as I made up my mind, FC Midtjylland felt like the right choice. I would really like to be part of the setup in that club,” explained Sabine Pedersen, who has signed a two-year contract with FC Midtjylland.

“The way the team plays and thinks handball appeals to me. It is the team more than the individuals, and that has led to some great handball. It is a fast break team and that suits my way of playing well,” added Pedersen, who is joining FC Midtjylland after two years at Viborg. She also had previous spells at Frederikshavn FOX and Aalborg DH.

FC Midtjylland head coach Helle Thomsen, who was also Sabine Pedersen´s coach when she played in Frederikshavn, is happy about the reinforcement on the line.

“Sabine fits really well into the way we play handball. She is good on counter attacks, and furthermore she is a player with a fine attitude and a lot of fighting spirit. She is one of the types of players we like to have in our squad.

At the same time we get a line player who is different from Susan (Thorsgaard), and that gives us more options in the defence as well as in attack,” said Thomsen.
