Official VELUX EHF FINAL4 playing court goes under the hammer  

EHF Marketing GmbH, the marketing arm of the European Handball Federation, is offering this one-time opportunity for a club, federation or organisation to purchase the official playing court of the VELUX EHF FINAL4.

“This is a true champions’ floor,” said Peter Vargo, Managing Director of EHF Marketing GmbH. “This floor, manufactured by our partner Gerflor, has only been in use at the five editions of the VELUX EHF FINAL4 and has seen some truly memorable handball matches. Which team can say that it plays on the same court on which teams like THW Kiel, FC Barcelona, HSV Hamburg and SG Flensburg-Handewitt have won the VELUX EHF Champions League?”

The eBay auction of the official VELUX EHF FINAL4 playing court will start at 20:00 hrs on Saturday, 7 June. A new court produced by Gerflor is worth more than 30,000 euro.

Furthermore many more items from the 2014 edition of the highlight of European club handball will be auctioned throughout the day, with all proceeds going to the German cancer charity, Deutsche Krebshilfe (German Cancer Aid).

Handball fans can bid for numerous items in the auction organised by Handball Hilft! (Handball Helps!) from team flags and promotional materials to signed team shirts from the four participating teams. There will also be the chance to bid for the official match ball from the final match between SG Flensburg-Handewitt and THW Kiel.

At the VELUX EHF FINAL4 itself already a total of 40,000 euro was donated to German Cancer Aid through entry fees from the golf tournament and proceeds from a prize draw.

Commenting on the start of the charity auction, Peter Vargo said: “German Cancer Aid has been an important partner for the VELUX EHF FINAL4 over the past five years, and I am really pleased that we can support their important work through this auction.”
