Preliminary round groups drawn for Women's Youth World Championship 2014

13 European national teams got to know their respective opponents at the Women's Youth World Championship 2014 as the tournament's four preliminary groups were drawn in Skopje on Friday, 23 May 2014.

The 24-nation tournament takes place in FYR Macedonia from 20 July to 3 August 2014 in the cities of Skopje, Ohrid and Strumica.

The groups for the preliminary round have been drawn as follows:

Group A: Sweden, Korea, Kazakhstan, Brazil, Tunisia, Netherlands

Group B: Russia, Norway, Japan, Hungary, Paraguay, Congo

Group C: Denmark, Romania, FYR Macedonia, Uszbekistan, Germany, Argentina

Group D: Portugal, Montenegro, Croatia, Angola, China, France

The first four teams from each group qualify for the Last 16; the teams placed fifth and sixth respectively will play for the President's Cup.

Denmark won the Women's Youth World Championship 2012 ahead of Russia and Norway.
