A special day for Pineau

Every day is special. Playing at the premiere edition of the MVM EHF FINAL4 is a special opportunity for every handball player, but if you celebrate your birthday during this event it is bound to be an outstanding day. Macedonian champions started their stay in Budapest with a double birthday celebration of the two French players in the team - Amandine Leynaud and Allison Pineau.

The latter one is the world’s best player from 2009 and on the eve of the tournament she celebrates her 25th birthday in the Aquincum Hotel. Despite huge expectations before the Saturday's semi-final match against Buducnost her positive mood was noticeable at the media call today as she shared her birthday emotions and wishes with the ehffinal4.com official website.

“Usually I celebrate my birthday while regular champions league matches are being played, and this time it is much different because of the FINAL4. It feels great that me and Leynaud got some very funny presents from our teammates and we really like them,” Pineau said.

She already celebrated her birthday in different hotels around Europe, but after her return to Skopje Allison would like to make one big party with her teammates and other friends of her.

“I would like to have a big party, ideally there would have to be two parties, one in France and one in Skopje, but unfortunately it turns out that I will have to celebrate only in Skopje.”

Vardar was the first team that arrived in Budapest and Allison is really looking forward to some interesting matches for her team this weekend.

“This is an amazing event and it is being played for the first time in the women's handball. Of course, the best birthday present for me would be, if I return home with great memories from this event. At this point we concentrate on the first match with Buducnost and then if we win here, everything is possible.”
