VELUX EHF FINAL4 Opening Party

The first edition delighted handball fans and the people of Cologne last year, with the audience celebrating outside the LANXESS arena throughout the evening. Once again, the eve of the VELUX EHF FINAL4 will be marked by the Opening Party.

On 30 May 2014, thousands of visitors will be present when the participating teams and their fans, the people of Cologne and many stars will gather for the pinnacle of European club handball.

The programme of events centred on the open-air stage begins at 18:00 hrs. and will include the presentation of the teams, performances from music acts Marquess and Rob Fowler, a chance to meet your favourite handball stars and much more. After the one-hour live concert from Kasalla, celebratory fireworks at 22.00 hrs. ensure that the party will end with a bang

Up close with the stars – team presentation

Visitors will have the chance to come face to face with the stars of Europe’s top four handball clubs. The adrenalin will be pumping for all players and fans when the teams are presented on stage.

The best handball players in the world will chat about the upcoming events with the hosts, before they meet the fans and sign autographs for about 30 minutes, while hosts Anett Sattler, Kristina Inhof and Markus Floth offer a taste of the hot atmosphere in the arena

Top-class music with Marquess, Kasalla and the official VELUX EHF Champions League song by Rob Fowler

Pop trio Marquess will present their familiar spirited Spanish way of life on stage with the songs "El Temperamento" and "Vayamos compañeros", which stormed the charts around Europe.

Those present at the Opening Party will be able to look forward to the premiere of the new VELUX EHF Champions League song “Do it like us”, performed live by musical star Rob Fowler for the first time.

Bringing the party to an end is yet another highlight. Kasalla, a high-flyer in the Cologne music scene, will present the true spirit of Cologne’s culture in a 60-minute concert.

The place to be – many celebrities and a special photo shoot

Handball celebrities and sporting legends will travel from around the world to Cologne and are eagerly awaiting the games. Those who wish to meet their idols and ask for autographs dare not miss the opening party. All club mascots will be present, not only for the entertainment of the children, and will be mingling throughout the evening.

At the opening party, fans also have the opportunity to take a personal souvenir photo with the most coveted trophy in handball, when it belongs exclusively to the fans for one night only.

The grand finale

A huge fireworks display rounds off the evening program and simultaneously ring in Europe’s greatest handball weekend.
