EHF Methods Commission launches Young Coaches Workshop

In its efforts to further strengthen the development, education and training of young handball coaches, the EHF Methods Commission has decided to organise an EHF Young Coaches Workshop with the first edition taking place from 31 July to 3 August 2014 in Linz, Austria.

The seminar is addressed to a small number of young coaches with both basic education and experience on the coaching level.

They will be asked to prepare two practical sessions and present them during the workshop with the two demonstration teams consisting of players of the Austrian national team born in 1998 or younger.

The EHF Lecturers, Peter Kovacs and Milan Petronijevic, will evaluate the training sessions in terms of content and realisation, while German high-performance coach, Jürgen Boss, will provide feedback on performance, soft skills and communication with the team.

Furthermore the participants will have the chance to follow some matches of the Men's 20 EHF EURO to learn from the national teams participating at the event which is played from 24 July to 3 August in the Austrian cities of Linz and Traun.

Target group

The coach is open for seven male and seven female coaches who are not older than 28 years, have good English language skills and basic experience in handball coaching.

The participants have to provide a CV together with their registration. The CV shall inform about the participant's handball career in general
(as player, referee, etc.) and on their coaching experience.
