NEWS REPORT: Aalborg have reinforced their squad ahead of the next season by a promising Norwegian talent Sander Sagosen.
Rising star joining Danish champions
Ruling Danish champions Aalborg Handball have signed one of the greatest talents in Norwegian handball at the moment, 18-year-old centre back Sander Sagosen.
Sagosen, who has already made his mark in the Norwegian national team, is joining Aalborg on a three-year contract from Norwegian champions Haslum HK.
“I chose Aalborg, because I get the opportunity to play in a top team in the Danish league and to develop further as a player. I have only heard positive things about the club, and furthermore I am looking forward to playing in front of the fantastic crowd in the Gigantium,” said 192 cm tall Sagosen, whom former Norwegian national coach Robert Hedin predicted would be “the world's best handball player.”
“Sander has been a highly coveted player, and therefore we are really happy that he has chosen to continue his career in Aalborg Handball. Sander is one of the greatest talents we have seen in many years in European handball, and with him we complete our squad for next season,” Aalborg director Jan Larsen said in an official statement Friday.
The campaign of the Danish champions in the European top flight this season came to an end in the Last 16 after they were eliminated by the record winners FC Barcelona.
