Women's EHF EURO 2014 mascot launched

It is a fox dressed in a jersey that boasts the national colours of Hungary and Croatia, that wears green shorts, shoes in green, white, red and blue and matching sweatbands.

It is - in short - the official mascot for the Women's EHF EURO 2014 which throws off in Hungary and Croatia in December 2014.

The 'foxy lady', as there were many that felt reminded of Jimi Hendrix' famous song when they saw the mascot, made its first appearance in Umag, Croatia, on the weekend and will from now tour the two hosting countries, making an appearance on several occasions.

For the official launch last Saturday in the centre of town both the women's teams from Croatia and Hungary turned up as they were playing a friendly tournament in Umag over the same weekend.

All the players, including Hungary's Anita Görbicz, immediately showed their sympathy for the mascot, hugging and posing for photos with it.

However, what it is still missing is the mascot's name, but the two hosts, the Hungarian and the Croatian Handball Federation, said to launch a naming competition soon which will allow handball fans to get their suggestions in.
