Cologne successfully defends the top position

The LANXESS arena remains the number one in Germany, as the traditional venue of the VELUX EHF FINAL4 in Cologne defended its 2012 leading position among multi-purpose arenas last year. According to the Stadionwelt INSIDE magazine, in total 1.385,509 visitors flocked to 135 events in the LANXESS arena in 2013.

In the world-wide Pollstar ranking of 2013, the Cologne arena ranked tenth.

“2013 was a good indication mark for future orientation of the LANXESS arena. Besides numerous world-class artists we will always include more small productions in our portfolio,” Stefan Löcher, the CEO of Arena Management GmbH said.

“Almost 1,4 million of visitors is a proof that we are going in the right direction,” he added.

The arena, which will host the climax of the European club handball season until 2016, leads the ranking ahead of O2 World Berlin with (1,267,854 spectators) and O2 World Hamburg (1,097,389).
