Lugi's Leijonborg suspended for two matches

The EHF Court of Handball has reached a decision following disciplinary proceedings against the player Jonatan Leijonborg from Lugi HF.

The player punched an opponent in the stomach in the last minute of the 2013/14 Men’s EHF Cup Group phase: Lugi HF (SWE) vs. Csurgói KK (HUN) which took place on 16 March 2014. The player was directly disqualified by the EHF referees.

He will be suspended for the participation in the EHF club competitions for two (2) matches.

The player Jonatan Leijonborg is therefore not entitled to participate in the 2013/14 Men’s EHF Cup matches in which the club Lugi HF will take part, respectively the matches Lugi HF vs. TSV Hannover-Burgdorf taking place on March 22, 2014 and Reale Ademar Leon vs. Lugi HF taking place on March 30, 2014.

An appeal against the present decision shall not have any suspensive effects.
