EHF Champions League reaches 100,000 fans on social media

The total number of people engaged with the EHF Champions League on social media has passed the 100,000 mark.

Fans of Europe’s premier club competition have been growing at a large rate recently and the number has quadrupled over the past 18 months and more than doubled in this season alone.

Over 10,000 of these fans have come from Twitter and Instagram, which were launched less than a year ago and have proven to be a great success, by attending to a wider audience alongside the longer established accounts on Facebook and YouTube.

As well as these four channels, EHF Champions League has been active on Soundcloud, Spotify and regularly broadcasts with Google+ Hangouts On Air.

The Champions League is not the only focus of the EHF’s social media strategy. The EHF Media Twitter account is one for all handball media not to miss.

Brand new EHF EURO Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts were launched at the end of 2013 to become the place to be for all future EHF EURO events. Together with the YouTube channel, EHF EURO has in this short time achieved a fan base of over 40,000. 2013 also saw the launch of Facebook and YouTube channels for EHF Beach Handball.

Thank you to everyone who shares their passion for handball with us and we look forward to improving and expanding our social media communities.
