EHF club competitions: ranking and seedings explained

Each year the EHF publishes rankings and club seedings for its men’s and women’s club competitions based on a system that has been in place for the past 21 seasons.

The system was introduced in the 1993/94 season, adapted and improved in 2002 due to changes in the EHF competition system and has now been further adapted following the merging of the Men’s EHF Cup and Cup Winners’ Cup.

The EHF Competitions Department has now released a technical explanation of the system its uses to define how many teams each national federation may enter into each competition and also how the position of each team within individual competitions is calculated.

The complete information package is available for download.
