All eyes on Berlin

The opening round of the EHF Cup Group Phase took place over the weekend and all 16 teams were keen to grab points as early as possible. A number of sides set their stall out from the very beginning, while some favourites will have plenty to do after suffering surprise defeats. See the full round up of results here.

Lugi HF celebrated an impressive away victory at the more fancied German side Hannover-Bugdorf.

There was no stopping Mathieu Grebille and his teammates, as Montpellier cruised to a 19-goal win over Zomimak.

Reale Ademar Leon outlined their ambitions for the competition with a strong second half performance to beat Csurgo 28:19.

EHF Cup Finals hosts Füchse Berlin got off to the perfect start in their hunt to be there in May by holding strong against a Chambery side who stayed in touch throughout the 60 minutes.

Delight for Tomas Urban as he and his Presov side were clear winners in a high scoring game against Swedish side Kristianstad.

Gorazd Skof watches the ball sneak by him into the goal during Nantes' 28:27 defeat to Pick Szeged in Hungary.
