Court of Handball suspends Müller for one match

The German champions Thüringer HC will make their debut in the Women's EHF Champions League Main Round on the upcoming Sunday without their head coach Herbert Müller.

The EHF Court of Handball has released a decision following proceedings against Müller:

"Mr Müller reported allegations of bribery to the media in relation to the EHF referees after the match of the 2013/14 Women’s EHF Champions League match between HCM Baia Mare (ROU) and HC Thüringer (GER).

"The EHF Court of Handball has found that Mr Müller, by reporting such allegations to the media without further evidence, violated the principle of fair play and the EHF Code of Conduct. The nature of the statements may bring the EHF and the sport of handball into disrepute.

"The EHF Court of Handball sanctioned Müller with a €5,000 fine (half being imposed on a suspended basis) and one match suspension. He is consequently not entitled to participate in the match WHC Vardar SCBT vs. Thüringer HC taking place in Skopje."

An appeal to the EHF Court of Appeal shall not have any suspensive effects.
