Chambery to enter the EHF Cup Group Phase without Paty and Paturel

The French participant in the EHF Cup Chambery Savoie Handball will miss two players in their group phase opener against Füchse Berlin.

The EHF Court of Handball has released three decisions following disciplinary proceedings against the players Kresimir Kozina (HC Alpla Hard), Cedric Paty and Pierre Paturel (Chambery Savoie Handball).

The three players were directly disqualified during the last minute of match of the 2013/14 Men’s EHF Cup Qualification Round 3 (2nd leg): HC Alpla Hard (AUT) vs. Chambery Savoie Handball (FRA), which took place in Hard, Austria (25:25).

All three players will be sanctioned with a one match suspension for unsportsmanlike conduct based on the EHF List of Penalties and will therefore not be entitled to play the next official EHF competition match of their respective clubs.

For Paty and Paturel this mean they will not travel to Berlin for the first match in Group D on 9 February. For Hard team their European campaign in this season has already finished.

An appeal to the EHF Court of Appeal shall not have any suspensive effects.
