REVIEW: The list of Group I in the main round of the EHF EURO 2014 has been completed as Czech Republic and Norway say farewell to the tournament. Spain and Denmark go with a clean sheet to Herning.
Hungary, Macedonia and Austria to Herning
After Denmark, Spain and Iceland had secured their berths in the Group I of the EHF EURO 2014 already on Tuesday, last three teams completed the list of teams for the main round in Herning on Thursday. Both Czech Republic and Norway have concluded their campaign at the tournament as both ranked fourth in their respective groups.
In Aalborg's farewell day with the championship Spain beat Iceland 33:28 to clinch the top spot in Group B taking four points to the main round. The Nordic team will have only one point at the start of the next stage. In the thrilling decisive match for the last ticket Hungary tied with Norway 26:26 and also take one point to Herning for a draw with Iceland.
After a fantastic start to the event Austrians suffered two defeats in a row as they lost to Macedonian team 21:22 and only thanks to the Danish win over Czechs they reached the main round. The hosts with a perfect record of three wins from three matches will keep four points after their 33:29 win which never really seemed in doubt, while the Macedonians will take one and Austria will start with zero points.
