PSG players turn into Father Christmas for kids in hospital
The whole PSG team turned up at the Necker hospital, in central Paris, last weekend in order to bring some Christmas spirit to little patients.
From having a chat with the kids to playing handball on a designed playground, they did everything they could to fill the building with joy.
"It's normal for us to do what we can to put smiles on their faces," stated a very popular captain Daniel Narcisse. "They probably won't be able to spend Christmas at home, so it's our duty to do everything we can to help."
After spending part of the afternoon visiting children in their rooms, the players sat at a specially set-up table in the hall of the hospital to sign autographs.
"Luc Abalo is one of my favourite players, it's amazing to see him here," says small handball enthusiast Leo, aged eight.
Meanwhile, Marko Kopljar spent most of his afternoon in the hospital hall, playing goalkeeper and facing shots from various kids on some specially designed goals.
"It's cool to see that, even with all the things they are suffering from, they're still smiling," Croatian star said.
The players brought some presents as well, and t-shirts and small balls were given. But the best of all, was probably the distributions of presents and toys that had been collected from the last PSG home game of the year.
Spectators were encouraged to bring toys so the players could offer them to the kids in Necker.
"Having so many things given to us by our fans is really humbling," said Patrice Annonay. "We brought some joy to the hospital, but through us, our fans did as well".
