Planning  is running hot for the 2014 VELUX EHF FINAL4

For the fifth time the city with its landmark cathedral hosts the VELUX EHF FINAL4, one of the world’s biggest indoor sport events. On both days 20,000 fans will flock to the LANXESS arena when Europe’s top four club handball teams battle it out for the title in the VELUX EHF Champions League.

Some tickets still available

17,000 tickets have already been sold. However, there is still the chance for a seat at the mega event. The official ticket and travel partners still have attractive packages available. VIP tickets that grant access to the backstage restaurant and the exclusive VIP boxes can be ordered directly through EHF Marketing.

As soon as the four participants have been confirmed, the fans of the teams in question will be able to order tickets through the clubs.

Fans can expect a spectacular handball event in the LANXESS arena, with the semi-finals being played on Saturday and the match for third place on Sunday just before the final throws off. But the action is not limited to the arena as VELUX EHF FINAL4 related events will take place across Cologne throughout the weekend.

Opening party on Friday

Following the success in 2013, the 2014 weekend will once again throw off with a huge opening party for all fans and Cologne residents on Friday afternoon just outside the LANXESS arena. Several artists and music acts will be taking to the stage and a colourful programme will entertain the crowd while the participating teams are presented.

The 2014 opening party will keep its local ‘kölsch‘ appeal. KASALLA, a band that has been playing in sold-out halls across Cologne, take to the big open air stage in order to, together with many other artists, welcome all guests (more information to follow).

Event programme across Cologne

Several shows and other events will be taking place throughout the city from Friday to Sunday. For the first time a business talk with representatives from the fields of sport, economics and politics will be part of the programme.

Once more an important part is the charity golf tournament with all its proceeds going to the German Cancer Aid. Just outside Cologne an illustrious mix of sports, show, business and society people gather at Gut Velderhof to play a round of golf for a good cause.

David Szlezak, VELUX EHF FINAL4 Team Leader, is looking forward to the 2014 edition: “It is our proclaimed goal to continuously improve the status of our premium event, the VELUX EHF FINAL4. The successes we have enjoyed so far confirm that we manage, year after year, to offer the fans new attractions and to present the sport in a world-class format.

Even though we have already reached a very high level in all areas, it is our motivation to bring the event further forward. The 2014 VELUX EHF FINAL4 shall become an unforgettable event for fans and players alike.”

Planning is running hot for event programme in the LANXESS arena and in the City of Cologne. Up to date information can be found on www.ehfFINAL4.com. All current ticket offers are also bookable via this site.
