DRAW PREVIEW: Seedings for the Men’s Challenge Cup have been released prior to the Thursday draw, which will be shown live on the ehfTV.com.
Last 16 draw goes live on ehfTV
In total 17 teams from 16 countries will be involved in the Men’s Challenge Cup Last 16 Draw on Thursday at 11:00 hrs local time. For the first time in the competition’s history the draw will be streamed live and free of charge on ehfTV.com.
All handball fans can also follow the event on the liveticker at the www.eurohandball.com or at the @ehfmedia Twitter channel.
The upcoming Round 3 tie between Ukraine’s ZTR Zaporozhye and Olimpus-85 USEFS from Moldava, which is scheduled only for 14 and 15 December, explains the uneven number of teams involved in the draw.
The winner of this remaining match will be seeded for the Pot 2 together with 7 other teams including the heaviest favourites of the competition IK Sävehof. Swedish champions played in the VELUX EHF Champions League last season.
There will be no country protection in the draw, what means that two Polish sides can meet each other as KS Azoty-Pulawy are seeded in Pot 1 and their domestic rivals Górnik Zabrze in Pot 2.
The first leg matches of the Last 16 are scheduled for 15/16 February, the second leg will follow one week later.
