EHF begins legal proceedings against Mr Herbert Müller, coach of HC Thüringer, for remarks made in media
Legal proceedings opened against HC Thüringer coach
The EHF has announced that it has begun legal proceedings with the EHF Court of Handball against Mr Herbert Müller, coach of HC Thüringer, for remarks he made in the media.
Following the match of the 2013/2014 EHF Women’s Champions League match between HCM Baia Mare (ROU) and HC Thüringer (GER), Mr. Müller reported allegations of bribery to the media in relation to the EHF referees.
The Initiator of Proceedings regarded such statements as derogatory and that they were made without grounds or evidence. Mr Müller thereby violated the principles of fair play and the EHF Code of Conduct.
The EHF Court of Handball has therefore been requested by the Initiator of Proceedings to begin proceedings. The admissibility of the claim was confirmed by the President of the EHF Court of Handball.
For the sake of due process, the parties are now invited to provide statements before the EHF Court of Handball releases its decision.
