Five more winners complete the Last 16
The list of teams for the Tuesday's draw of the Women's Challenge Cup Last 16 has been completed as five more teams found their way to the next round last weekend. The draw of the Last 16 will take place on Tuesday, 19 November at 11:00 hrs at the EHF Office in Vienna.
The first leg of the Last 16 is scheduled for 1-2 February, the second leg will follow one week later.
In the only double-header of the weekend, ABU Baku took a clear 60:39 aggregate win at home in Baku, as GAS Megas Alexandros Giannitson were sent home to Greece with a 21:32 and a 18:28 defeat.
Things were somewhat closer between ZRK Naisa-Nis and Daninlovgrad. The Montenegrins had won 25:24 at home, but that lead turned out to be too narrow, when they entered the Sport Hall “Cair” in Nis. 1,000 spectators saw the Serbian team win 23:17 and secure their Last 16 berth with a five goal margin on aggregate.
Having won 40:29 at home against JAC Alcanena, Istanbul Maltepe BGSK had no reason to fear their trip to Portugal for the second match. The Turkish overall win never got in any kind of danger, as they were leading 15:8 at half-time, and they could possibly live with their lead being reduced in the second half to a final win of 28:25.
H 65 Höör had even less reason to worry after their 33:20 home win against Westfriesland SEW. And in the Westfrieslandhal, the Swedish side cruised to another big win against the Dutch ladies. 32:22 were Höör's winning digits this time.
Finally, KHF Pristina got away with a much better result when playing at home against SG Basel Regio. After having lost 50:25 in Switzerland, KHF managed to limit the defeat to seven goals, 30:23 at home in Kosovo, where Admire Toverlani scored ten times for the home team.
