Qualification groups for Men's 20 EHF EURO 2014 drawn

The qualification groups for the Men's 20 EHF EURO 2014 in Austria were drawn at the EHF Office in Vienna on Tuesday.

With the hosts, Austria, as well as Germany and Sweden as the first and second ranked teams at the Men's 18 EHF EURO 2012 already qualified, there are 13 spots left at the final tournament which will take place from 24 July to 3 August 2014.

The 32 teams that participate in the qualification were drawn into eight groups of four teams each. The top two ranked teams will qualify from Groups 1 to 5, only the first ranked team will qualify from Groups 6 to 8.

"We are very proud and happy to be the host of the upcoming major event, the 2014 Men's 20 European Championships for the generation 1994 and younger, and we are looking forward to welcoming you all in Austria," said Martin Hausleitner, Secretary General of Austrian Handball Federation who conducted the draw together with EHF Secretary General, Michael Wiederer.

On the occasion of the draw the organisers also released the event's logo and launched the official website.

The qualification tournaments will take place from 4 to 6 April 2014. The first right to organise them was drawn to Spain, Denmark, Switzerland, France, Slovenia, Israel, FYR Macedonia and Portugal.
