European qualification groups for Women's U20 World Championship to be drawn in Vienna

The draw for the Women's U20 World Championship 2014 Qualification Europe will take place at the EHF Office in Vienna on Tuesday, 22 October at approximately 11:00 hrs.

22 European teams will be drawn to six different groups. These teams are: Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Spain, France, Germany, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia, Switzerland, Slovakia, Sweden, Turkey and Ukraine.

Four qualification groups (1 to 4) will consist of four teams each, two groups (5 & 6) will consist of three teams each. From Groups 1 to 3 the top two teams will qualify, while only the first ranked team from Group 4 to 6 qualifies for the final tournament in Croatia.

The nine teams that qualify will join Croatia, Hungary, Russia and Denmark - all four are already qualified - as the European representatives at the Women's U20 World Championship 2014. Overall 24 teams will take part.

The qualification tournaments will be played from 18 to 20 April 2014, the playing dates for the final tournament are 29 June to 13 July 2014.
